Can't download it from my acount (Premiere Elements the same problem) after doing a reinstall of my pc.
And ofourse I have a legal version. The download stops at 83% (Error 183) The strange thing is I can download a trial version of Elements 25! Why does adobe blocks it? Do they wnat me to purchase a new version?

Have you turned off your firewall and antivirus while installing? That would be the first thing to try. There are more solutions in this post from an Adobe employee.

Thanks, but the strange thing is that I can download the trial version Elements 2025 and that works without a problem!
So, the firewall has nothing to do with it. I also have an old version Elements 12 and that is also blocked.
I guess Adobe blocks the older version when you reinstall the program after a pc-reset and want you to buy the new version.

You did not answer his question: Did you turn your firewall off? I have versions 10, 14, 16, 17, 187, 20, 21, 22,23,24, & 25 all installed, most of them recently downloaded just to do it. Zero issues with downloading, installing, registering.

I have the same issue. Firewall/antivirus are off and I cannot install 2023. But 2025 is no problem.

Right!
I decided to buy the 2025 version and it is working without problems.
This upgrade version costs me 83 euros for something I don't really need because
version 2023 had everything on board I use for editing photos!

I often read what users don't mention: Having a different version of PSE running while trying to install another version for example. I've never had any problems installing any version, most people don't have problems.
Users that do have problems: they tend to do something they forgot about out, or they generally do not describe everything actually going on while they are trying the install. "Oh, I forgot I manually removed those two files" or "I know my way around computers, so I know what I'm talking about"- and they post a blurry picture of the computer screen taken with their phone.... they don't knoow how to make a screenshot and post it- that's a really big flag that they are not fully describing everything they have done---
My general answer to fix installation problems: Turn your computer all the way off, not reboot it, but turn it off. Go get some coffee, come back, turn it on-- start the install without doing anything else.

You must be joking, I tried for days and days and drank lots of coffee😉
Explain why I can download version 26 without any problems?
And this morning I bought it, and it is working...( I hope for the full 3 years)
Paid 83 euros for it, and that wasn't necessarily if version 2023 kept working because I don't
need the new 'extras'.
Fault 183 is widely mentioned on this forum, and there is no given solution here or on the chat.
Downloading a program is no rocket science!
I never had problems with downloading Pinnacle Studio 26, Gimp, Davinci etc.

Welp, to begin with, version 26 hasn't been released yet, I'm sure you meant pse 2025.
Error 183 is a fairly generic error that could mean a number of different problems, from permissions to an aggressive virus checker to a setting on Windows that prevents installation, even video drivers not being updated. You never have answered the question about your firewall.

Sorry, I meant version 2025, Firewall was of.
Ok, here is my procedure : after reinstalling Windows 11, I first download the latest Windows updates.
Then I go to my Adobe Account and click to download my legal copy Adobe Elements 2023.
The installation begins, but it stops at 80% wit the message: 'downloading is not possible at this moment, try again...(Firewall on or of makes no difference)
Well, I tried again for hundreds of times with exact the same results. The download stops around 80 or 90%.
Today I had enough of it, and I purchased and downloaded the 2025 version.
As I sad earlier, that works fine and I had no problems installing it.
Happy with it, the few free programs on the internet need a long learning time..😉

Than explain to me why I can download the trial version Elements 2025 without any problems?
And yes, the firewall was off. The problem got worse when I tried to use the older Elements version 12 on disc.
This lead to a total crash of my pc! A blue screen appeared with as only option to reinstall windows 11.
Glad that that worked! Took a few hours reinstalling it, and luckily there was nothing important on the pc.. because I store most important things on a extern disk. May this be a warning for Windows 11 users!

If using, or trying to use / install an older version of pse causes "your computer to crash" you clearly had other issues with your computer, other than older versions of PSE. Good luck.
